Path to Glory: Blighted Wilds
Welcome to the Blighted Wilds, the narrative expansion for Warhammer Age of Sigmar that centers on the war for Thyria, a once-lush region of Ghyran, the Realm of Life, now threatened by the corrupting forces of Nurgle. In the campaign, players lead their armies through a linked series of battles where you can either fight to purify the blighted lands or embrace the rot spreading through the wilds.
Within this book you will find 12 narrative battleplans and a campaign map to connect them, Rules to grow your Path to Glory army, gaining enhancements, heroic traits, spells, and prayers as you progress, and Custom content tools, including the ability to create your own Landmark of Ghyran terrain pieces with special abilities, and build bespoke Regiments of Renown tailored to your force.
Overall it’s designed to make your army’s story feel personal and dynamic, with evolving battles and distinct narrative rewards as you fight across the Blighted Wilds.
In Path to Glory: Blighted Wilds, Thyria is presented as a specific war-torn region of Aqshy that has become a focal point for Path to Glory campaigns due to the pervasive influence of Nurgle and the resulting instability of the land. The book does not describe Thyria as a fully realized subrealm culture or civilization. Instead, it is framed as a contested frontier, defined almost entirely by ongoing conflict, corruption, and the ambitions of the warbands fighting there. The campaign establishes that Nurgle’s forces have taken root in Thyria. His influence has blighted the land, creating regions where survival is difficult and corruption is widespread. Consequently, the area has become a magnet for conflict because it is not fully controlled by any single power.
The book deliberately avoids locking these Wilds into a single visual or ecological identity. They are meant to be flexible, adaptable to different factions and play styles, united primarily by the idea of corruption and contestation, not a single aesthetic. The campaign does not present Thyria as uniquely important in the grand Age of Sigmar storyline. Instead, it is important because Nurgle’s corruption provides a persistent, credible threat without ending the conflict. This makes Thyria ideal for Path to Glory’s core themes; Warbands rising from obscurity; Rival forces fighting over limited territory and resources; Progression through repeated, localized battles rather than decisive wars. The presence of Nurgle establishes the baseline hostility of the environment, but the campaign is explicitly about what player armies do in that space, not about advancing Nurgle’s narrative.
Thyria is not described as doomed.
Nor is it framed as on the brink of salvation.
Thyria's fate is what you make it, with the strength of your Armies.
